Six Flags Reading Program:

Dear Parents,

Students in Grades K-6 are eligible to participate in the Six Hour Reading Program sponsored by the Six Flags Theme Parks.  This is a read for fun program.  Reading to complete school assignments does not count.  Reading for this club does include reading to yourself, reading to someone else, or having someone else read to you.

Please download the “Six Flags Reading Log” to list the time spent reading and to keep track of the books, magazines, and other reading materials that have been read.  Parent or teacher initials are required as proof that the reading was completed.

Please sign the tally sheet after the six hours (360 minutes) of reading has been finished and return to me by February 13, 2017.  A free admission coupon to Six Flags will be awarded to each student completing this program.

If you have any questions, please contact me at school (extension 105) or email me at

Ozzie’s Reading Club

Dear Parents,

The St. Scholastica School Library, through the generosity of the Kane County Cougars baseball team, will sponsor Ozzie’s Reading Club for all students in Grades K-8.  This program will begin on Monday, January 2, 2017 and end on February 26, 2017.  It is an eight-week program, divided into four two-week segments, with each segment representing a base on a baseball diamond.  The baseball diamond will be posted outside the Library with a “smiley” baseball as each student’s marker.  When a student completes a segment he/she will advance to the next base.  The goal is to “hit a home run”, after which a ticket order form will be sent home to redeem for the Saturday, May 27, 2017, 6:30PM game.

Please download the verification form and record each completed reading assignment, title of books and number of pages.  At the end of each segment, please sign the verification form, clip, and return to me.

1.  Joke, riddle, drawing, cartoon, and world record books are not acceptable.
2.  Kindergartners and 1st graders will need to read two books per segment.  (Books read to them will count.)
3.  2nd and 3rd graders will need to read a total of 75 pages per segment.
4.  4th and 5th graders will need to read a total of 125 pages per segment.
5.  6th, 7th, and 8th graders will need to read a total of 150 pages per segment

If you have any questions, please contact me at school (x105) or email me at
